Do dogs belong on the dinner plate? South Korea is in the middle of a war over a cultural practice as the younger generation defends canines in a battle against customs and tradition. SBS Dateline is Australia's flagship international current affairs programme, which airs on the Viceland/SBS networks and is distributed internationally through Journeyman Pictures. This film was shot on location in South Korea.

ADK JAPAN/SAATCHI: 'UNIVERSAL STREET GAMES'

This fast-turnaround series was shot and delivered on a daily basis; whilst maintaining top production values. Toyota Motor Company flies some of the world's best dancers, musicians and athletes to the US for a road-trip to the famous X-Games. Dean directed the series, whilst US production services were provided by his corporation, The Poolside Group, Inc.

JULY 3, 2018:

VICELAND/SBS - 'DEFENDING GENDER: THE PROUD BOYS'

This film examines a men’s ‘support group’, who say they are fighting to reclaim what feminism took away from men. Do they have legitimate concerns about western culture, or are they preaching hate and sexism?  The Proud Boys are a group of men who say they are speaking up for a new class of minority: the disenfranchised young male. This film was shot on location in New York, New Jersey and Texas.

DISCOVERY USA/ANIMAL PLANET - 'THE CRYPTID FACTOR'

For Animal Planet's 'Monster Week', the Cryptid Factor took over the network! This multicam shoot featured international superstar Rhys Darby, UK radio and TV personality Dan Schreiber, and all around good guy 'Buttons' -providing links for an entire week's worth of programming over a two day pre-record. This was shot on location in Hollywood, CA.

MAY 20, 2018:

VICELAND/SBS - 'THE VEGAN WARS'

This film examines the rise of extreme vegan activists in England. Dean embeds with a third-generation dairy farmer who’s been called a rapist and a murderer; as well as the Australian vegan activist kicking up a storm in the UK. SBS Dateline is Australia's flagship international current affairs programme, which airs on the Viceland/SBS networks and is distributed internationally through Journeyman Pictures. This film was shot on location in the UK.

This fascinating science documentary series looks at the controversial medical practice of human fecal transplants. Dean's DP work made up the United States portions of the series, and was shot on location in Texas and California.
